BECOME WHAT YOU BELIEVE.....  I remember the moment when I gave Kurt Busch a check for $1,000,000 (One Million Dollars) for winning the NASCAR Nextel Cup. PRICELESS... Kurt commented to me how much that tag line motivated him and the team. C'MON FISHING OUTDOORS is dedicated to helping anglers achieve their dreams and overcome the many obstacles in their path.  We are a faith based organization that simply believes that Gods grace is sufficient and that through a relationship with him he will show us the right path.

Guide Services

Capt. Gus Gustafson

Striper Guide Captain Gus Gustafson specializes in striper fishing on Lake Norman.  He has almost sixty years of fishing experience in both fresh and saltwater.   His fishing career began as a first mate with various licensed boat captains on saltwater charter boats in the 1950's.

Gus has fished Lake Norman since its inception in the early 1960's.   He recently completed the necessary requirements to obtain his USCG Captain's License and expects the document to be forthcoming in early spring, 2005.

He enjoys sharing his fishing knowledge and boating experience with others.  In addition to operating the "premier fishing guide service on Lake Norman," he is also an outdoor columnist.   His weekly column, "Fishing with Capt. Gus!" is published regularly and read by thousands in the Charlotte Observer's (Iredell Neighbors Section), News @ Norman, The Lincoln Times-News, and The Observer News Enterprise.  At times, the article also appears in The Salisbury Post, The Lake Norman Times and The Huntersville Herald.  Additional columns and stories are written, some upon request, for publication in The Lake Norman Official Visitors Guide, The Piedmont Pilot, The Central Piedmont Outdoors Magazine, The Connection, Drift Magazine and In The Spotlight Magazine.  Gus' web site
www.lakenormanstriperfishing.com  features all works, including a weekly column, a monthly fishing forecast, and periodic fun fishing stories entitled, "Fish Tales and Other Stories as Told by Gus."

Lake Norman Ventures, Inc. is a multi-dimensional company owned and operated by Gus. It not only provides fishing guide services, but clients can opt to charter a tour of Lake Norman from a luxurious twenty five foot pontoon boat.

Innovative and/or useful boating and fishing products, plus gift certificates can be purchased online from the website.  Products include, planer boards, striper fishing floats, souvenirs, and topographic area lake maps.

Gus provides speeches and demonstrations to clubs and organizations about lake issues and boater safety.  He conducts fishing clinics and seminars at local establishments and at fishing and boating expos.

He is a past and the current President of the Lake Norman Striper Swipers, a member of the Carolina's Catfish Club, a consultant for the Lake Norman Marine Commission, a Board of Director member of the Lake Norman Convention and Visitors Bureau, and a member of both the Lake Norman and the Mooresville Chambers of Commerce.

Alex Davis- Pro-Staff Member &  Guide   Click on link below for details

Alex was chosen from 100 applicants of fine young fisherman by our staff to represent Team Denver Marine  this year.

Alex lives in Albertville, AL on Lake Guntersville. His tournament record and that info isn't the longest since he lived in Colorado. Alex plans on fishing the Bama BFL's in 2006 and the Bass Southern Opens in 2006, but just plan on fishing all the wildcats and small tournaments he can this year (50 -60 ) boats. Alex also plan on learning the surrounding lakes so next year I can excel in the BFL and Southern Opens. For now he's won around 600 dollars and have 2 club tournament wins and 5 2nd place finishes and 10 top 5's.

The pics are from the last few weeks. Two weeks ago I fished a FOM tournament and ended up with 10 with 15.89 their was 44 boats. The tues after that fished a 20 boat wildcat and came in third with 10.55. Last tues fished another tues night tournament and got first with 17.25 witht hte big fish of the tournament at 6-4. The tournaments run from 6-9 and 2nd had 10 lbs and third had 6 lbs. My other sponsor Kistler Rods called me on Wed and want me to take out Scott Martin prefishing for the FLW Tour stop on Wheeler but he will be locking to Guntersville. He came in 2nd at last years FLW Tour Championship and has won 3 FLW Tour Events. He is Rolands Martins son and is on Rangers National Staff also sponsored by Chevy and more. So that will be a fun experience and I think he will be staying with us for a while. The pics are from recently and the one is the big fish from the tournament the other night. The link is to the results with pics from the Tues night tournament. I was wondering if I could get some business cards to pass around, and give one to Scott because I think he might be in your neck of the woods soon and if he needs anything he could have a place to go. Also could I get some Team Denver Marine t shirts in Med and Large and a Team Denver Marine Sticker for my truck because I am getting a Chevy Tahoo  and need one for it. Thanks for everything I appreciate what you have done for me and will remember who helped me out and  got me in my first Ranger when I make it. Just wanting to tell you how the fishing been going.
